doingdhCo-authored grant proposals, one of three awarded in the category of Institute for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities, to develop and teach two-week summer institutes (August 4-15, 2014) and (July 2016) for twenty-five mid-career American historians in digital humanities work. I was responsible for the overall intellectual direction of the institute, including the development of a curriculum comprised of readings, digital projects, tools, and other relevant materials. I reviewed over seventy-three applications and worked closely with two institute faculty to select our final cohort. Together with Dr. Sharon Leon, I provided instruction on theoretical grounding of digital history methods, as well as basic digital skills, web publishing platforms, digital humanities tools, and project planning and development. We worked closely with participants to apply their new skills to individual projects throughout the institute and into the fall through virtual working groups.
